XMCS Announces Premier Installation of E1000-Series Mail Control System at Aztec Internet Services

XMCS is pleased to announce that its affiliate and founding ISP, Aztec Internet Services has successfully deployed the E1000-series platform on their production SMTP network.

Testing of the XMCS solution began early in 2002 when XMCS delivered early field trial versions of the E1000-series product to Aztec Internet Services.

"When we first implemented the XMCS product last year to filter spam for our commercial and residential users we recognized an immediate performance improvement on our mail servers as well as considerable disk and CPU usage reductions" stated Malcolm Kynoch, Aztec Internet Services' network administrator. "When we later deployed XMCS traffic shaping policy we were able to reduce the amount of SMTP traffic on our WAN peering by approximately 55%"

Xtreme Mail Control Systems is focused on providing intelligent service management solutions for both service provider and enterprise electronic mail infrastructure. Offering an unprecedented level of integration between core network components and edge services, the XMCS solution overcomes the obstacles inherent to existing heterogeneous mail management solutions by providing a homogenous solution for managing mail from the network through application-layer service levels.

By combining highly sophisticated spam and virus detection algorithms with network-based traffic management, XMCS regulates network traffic by prioritizing network bandwidth for valid mail traffic while reducing the network bandwidth consumed by connections trafficking spam and/or malicious content such as viruses.

Based in Halton Hills, Aztec Internet Services has been providing residential and commercial Internet access to the Toronto-West area since 1995.
